A respeito desse registro, Michael Imber informou o seguinte, em 18 de janeiro de 2006, ao CBRO: "I examined this birds pics when sent to me by Caio Jose Carlos some months ago, and concluded [though without much personal experience of the 2 spp] that it was most likely an immature chlororhynchos rather than a carteri. This was based on the assumption that the culmen was turning yellow and that the yellow base would become less rather than more pointed as maturity progressed. I still feel that this is so, but that is really only my judgement, not first-hand knowledge. Also the likelihood of carteri occurring off Brazil seems low."
