Resolução No 123Substituir Rallus Linnaeus, 1758, em Rallus sanguinolentus, R. nigricans e R. maculatus, por Pardirallus Bonaparte, 1856 na lista principal das aves brasileiras.

A inclusão de Rallus sanguinolentus Swainson, 1837, R. nigricans Vieillot, 1819 e R. maculatus Boddaert, 1783 no gênero Pardirallus (tipo: Rallus variegatus Gm. = R. maculatus Bodd.), como proposto por Olson (1973), representa o tratamento preponderante na recente literatura ornitológica de referência (Sibley & Monroe 1990, Taylor 1996, Taylor & van Perlo 1998, Clements 2000, SACC 2003).
