Resolução No 133 – Substituir Speotyto Gloger, 1841 por Athene Boie, 1822 na lista principal de aves brasileiras.

Uma verificação em obras referenciais mais recentes evidenciou que a combinação Athene cunicularia (Molina, 1782), adotada em A.O.U. (1998), König et al. (1999), Holt et al. (1999), Clements (2000) e SACC (2003), prepondera sobre a combinação Speotyto cunicularia (Molina, 1782) (Sibley & Monroe 1990, Sick 1993, 1997, Parker et al. 1996). [Embora mencionados, estudos moleculares e citogenéticos que advogaram a independência do gênero Speotyto (Schmutz et al. 1989, Sibley & Ahlquist 1990) não foram seguidos pela A.O.U. (1998).]
